Humanity First - Viewing Society With Compassion & Hope

Welcome back to our blog.

Today, we’re excited to introduce the newest additions to our website — two new designs in our Humanity Collection.

As always, our mission is to create products that promote equality, peace, dignity, and respect for all. These values are more than just principles — they’re the foundation of our brand.

Humanity First:

The Humanity Collection is rooted in a simple but powerful belief: before anything else, we are all human. When we meet someone, we should see their humanity first — their capacity for compassion, empathy, kindness, and their right to be treated with dignity and respect.

We believe that deep down, people share more similarities than differences. We all want to love and be loved. We all want to belong. We all want to feel useful and connected to something greater than ourselves.

Roots Of Discrimination:

Unfortunately, society often teaches us biases — harmful beliefs about others based on race, gender, identity, or background. These beliefs aren't innate; they're learned. And sometimes, we’re not even aware we hold them. But we believe everyone deserves the chance to unlearn, to grow, and to do better.

Compassion Over Judgement:

At 1991 Streetwear, we believe most people, when given the opportunity, will choose compassion over hate. By making space for understanding and empathy, we can begin to undo the damage of discrimination, not just in others, but in ourselves.

That’s what our ‘Humanity First’ & ‘See My Humanity’ designs are all about. It calls on all of us to look beyond skin tone, gender identity, sexual orientation, or status, and recognize the humanity in one another.

But it goes a step further. Humanity First doesn’t just speak to those who discriminate — it also speaks to those who experience discrimination. It asks both sides to see the person behind the pain. Because even those who judge or hate are often carrying their own wounds. That doesn’t excuse their behavior, but it reminds us that healing starts with understanding.

Choosing love over hate isn’t easy sometimes. But it’s the only way forward — for all of us.

Wear the Message:

We hope our new designs spark reflection and conversation within society. More than that, we hope they inspire action in how we see one another and in how we carry ourselves each day. We hope that we, as a brand, will find our community and connect with those in society who resonate with our beliefs so we can work together to make a positive change.
