This was influenced by the life philosophy of Ubuntu — a Southern African worldview that means ‘I am because you are.’ Ubuntu emphasizes human interconnectedness, compassion and empathy, community and mutual respect, dignity, and equality. It teaches that my humanity is tied to yours, and in this sense, I only become fully human through my interaction with others.
